Calla is so far the highest producing doe we have had in our herd. She's sharp, long bodied and exudes dairy strength. Her udder holds a shocking amount of milk and she milks down to nothing.
In her second lactation she gave 6.62lbs of milk during our 2021 CGS One Day Milk Test, very easily earning her milk star (she scored over twice the points needed for her star!). Calla hit unbelievable production as a 5 year old 5th freshener. I measured an incredible 9.65lbs of milk in 24 hrs at 4 weeks fresh. She had gone down by the time milk test day rolled around, but having this number as a barn record makes me very happy. Not many Nigerian does make this much milk!!!
Calla classified EX90 at our 2022 classification as a 3 year old 3rd freshener, our highest classified animal. She classified EX90 again in 2023, and went up to EX91 in 2024.
She was also awarded SELECT DOE status in 2022!
Calla has proven to be a real powerhouse of a doe and I'm so glad to have her as a foundation for our herd.
