Tequila is a gorgeous young buck from a really lovely mix of genetics. I chose this guy to help with teat length/thickness and placement and to help add super soft udder texture, as well as high production.
His dam Castle Rock Bless Her Heart ("Jessie") is a beautiful daughter of SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B +*S (Elite Sire 2014/15), who is a very accomplished and well known sire in the Nigerian breed, with a plethora of gorgeous, productive daughters including Castle Rock Tahitian Sunset who was the 2019 ADGA National Champion.
Jessie herself has held up very well for her age and has a few qualities we're super excited about - she scored an E in udder texture which I've found to be rare to see, she maintains her lactations very well (her owner says she is extremely hard to dry off) and she has beautiful teat placement. Her first milk test in 2022 was 6.8lbs.
Tequila's sire "Cootie" is from a very interesting mix of genetics. His dam is SG Quaking Canopy Olly Olly AR 4*M VEVE 90, a beautiful and very productive doe. She produced 1400lbs of milk in her 5th lactation and is another doe who is reportedly very persistent in her production and hard to dry off. She had two Grand Champion wins in the 2022 show year, and has LA'd with an "Excellent" mammary every time she's been appraised, since the age of 2 - with very nice scores in rear udder height (39), fore udder (38), rump (E), and of course those thick teats (44). In 2023 Olly went to the ADGA National Show and scooped 6th place in the Aged Doe Class, no small feat with the quality of animals there! Olly's dam SG Castle Rock Saragosa 3*M EEEE 91 is a full sister to Castle Rock Black Oak, a buck who has made a huge impact here in Canada.
Cootie's sire is Redstone Feel Like a Stranger, a son of the gorgeous SG Redstone SF Dark Star 4*M AR VEEE 92, a doe I have long admired, who consistently milked over 1000lbs per lactation and was on the Elite list from 2016 until her death in 2022. Stranger's full sister is SG Redstone Pony Bellatrix 5*M AR, who has always been a favourite of mine within the very strong Redstone herd, and who milks 1200lb + lactations.
Tequila has a gorgeous 3/4 sister, Quaking Canopy Mamasbrkn Heart, who's a daughter of Jessie and sired by Redstone Feel Like a Stranger. She's a 2 year old 2nd freshener in 2023 and looks very promising!

Dam, left as a 7th freshener (not very full and squatting on the stand), right as a very newly fresh, extremely full 5th freshener. A normal fill would be a mix of the two!
